It was that time of year again! The day almost every girl both looked forward to and dreaded at the same time. It was valentine’s day.
My sister Mindy and I walked nervously towards our lockers,
“Please let me get one this year!”
“Me too! I just want one!”
We stopped in front of our lockers and looked at each other,
“Let’s open them together, after three!”
“Ok.”
“One, two, three!”
I opened my locker door, an avalanche of envelope’s came pouring out on top of me. I literally had hundreds of Valentine's cards. I looked across to Mindy, but she just shook her head,
“Nope, nothing for me!”
I couldn’t help but notice the jealous look she had on her face.

I had been really nervous about changing schools, I was settled at my old school, I knew everyone and everyone knew me.
My parents had gone to work abroad so it was just my sister Mindy and me. We lived together in an apartment close to our new school.
“Come on Sasha, hurry up or we’ll be late for our first day.”
“Ok, ok, I’m coming.”
I took one last look in my bedroom mirror,
“Oh well, I guess that will have to do!”
My first day went really well, everyone was so nice and friendly towards me. As Mindy and I walked home after school I told Mindy all about my day.
“I’ve made so many new friends, I don't understand why the kids at this school are so nice."
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“No, why? What do you mean?”
“Of course they’re all nice to you, you’re beautiful!”
