What you need to know about class prerequisites and corequisites at Madison College.
Before you register for any Madison College class, ask yourself:
Do I need this class? Do I meet the requirements to take it?
Program students can run their degree progress report to find out if they need a class. Learn why you should view your program requirements at https://madisoncollege.edu/degree-progress-report.
Pre-requisites are requirements you must meet to take certain classes.
How do you know what’s required?
Is there a co-requisite, a course you would take at the same time?
Do you need to be enrolled in a degree program to take the course?
When it comes to figuring out if you meet the pre-requisites for a class, read the entire class description and then think about what it requires:
Are its requirements joined by the words “and” or “or”?
When requirements are joined by the word “and”, you MUST meet all the pre-requisites BEFORE you can enroll.
If the requirements are joined by the word “or”, like a test score or a class, you only need to meet one of them.
