Axelson engine lathe steady rest, drilling the locating holes in a Moore jigbore

After all the measuring, sawing and grinding, I now have holes for the locating pins. I will braze the two cast iron parts together.
I realize that sawing a section out of this steady rest, then pinning and brazing it back together it will not be as strong as it once was. I think for my home shop application, it will be good enough.
Looking back, I was probably over cautious taking so much time measuring, but that was $160 I was sawing in half!
