Footage of the bizarre encounter was recorded at around 5.30am on Tuesday on a stretch of the A2 near Coldred. Kent Police were called to the scene to help direct traffic and eventually remove the animals from the roadway. Recovery driver Joe Clift, 28, who was heading to a breakdown in Dover at the time, told KentOnline: 'I just thought "what the hell are these cows doing in the road", it's a weird thing to see at 5.30am. I was just heading down to a breakdown and just saw them all coming towards us. I lost count of how many there were.'
