Young offenders in Queensland ‘not held accountable for their actions’

Queensland opposition leader David Crisafulli says young offenders in Queensland are not “held accountable for their actions”.

“They understand consequences for actions, and until we do that, we will have the revolving door of youth justice go round and round in circles,” Mr Crisafulli told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

Mr Crisafulli has called for the Queensland government to restore “breach of bail as an offence”.

“Bail is not a right, it’s a privilege,” he said.

“It’s time we toughen up our act, and restoring breach of bail is the one thing we’ve asked the Queensland government to do.

“They’ve been pig-headed, they’ve been held captive to the radical left.”
