Pak journalists protest to protect their freedom of speech which will be smashed with govt's new law

Hundreds of journalists have taken to the streets in Pakistan as they are seen protesting in front of the Parliament. This is in lieu of a new law, under Pakistan Media Development Legislation, proposed by the govt, which if enacted will clamp down on the freedom of Pakistani journalists. The protest has been going on since Sunday. Many believe that freedom of the press is already controlled by Pakistan's army and the ISI and this will further curb their freedom of speech and expression. The opposition has been coming in to support the protest. Shahid Khaquan Abbasi, former PM of Pakistan, and Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Information Minister also joined the protesters to show their solidarity.
