What you should know about Russia’s parliamentary elections

Russia set to hold its legislative elections, known as Duma, on Friday.

Many opposition candidates have been excluded, with only parties that are approved by the Kremlin dominating the ballot.

The country's election commission insists the three-day poll will be free and fair.
