Nepal will be starting off their 13th SAFF campaign facing against the host & the defending champion Maldives at National Stdaium,Male. It'll be the 17th encounter between these two strong south asian giants.
Nepal have never won against Maldives since 1999. Last time they met in the semifinal of 12th SAFF held in Dhala,Bangladesh.Nepal was lost against Maldives by 3-0,though the Gorkhalis fought hard till the last but couldn't capitalize the goals.
