
The Taliban fighters opened fire at protesting women to disperse them in Kabul on September 30. The hardline Islamist group even pushed the women protesters and forced them to stop the demonstrations. The Taliban have effectively banned girls from secondary education in Afghanistan. Despite promising women’s rights, the Taliban is re-imposing its radical ideology of banning education and employment for women. In an interview to Tolo News, a Taliban leader even questioned women's use of perfume and boots.
