Heritage Foundation Senior Fellow Mike Gonzalez, author of BLM: The Making of a New Marxist Revolution, says what he describes as the "invasion of critical race theory" in all aspects of life in the US was a direct result of the thousands of Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. Gonzalez says that the ways critical race theory is implemented are often unconstitutional or illegal in breaking the Civil Rights Act.
