This is our second Q & A in our recent series

Question: Doctor How often do you exercise?
I exercise 6 times a week.

Question: Doctor what kind of exercises do you do? I have sorted the questions in an order which is related to me.
This is purely based on my routine and what I do

This is my 20th year hitting the gym. 20th anniversary on a funny note

I go to the gym 6 times a week. I keep changing my goals once every 6 months. The more you keep changing, your body keeps progressing.
So I work out 6 days a week and my training program changes every 6 months.

You don't have to exercise 6 days a week. 4 days a week is ideal for healthy living. A 60-90 mins session is more than enough for good health.

For me, it helps me stay in a healthy mindset. I have prioritized my life to be healthy and fit.
But 4 days a week will do good for most people.

Question: From Vivek. I want to do yoga and go to the gym too. What is your ideal recommendation?

Vivek. I do yoga as well as I go to the gym. I do it 6 times a week. For an ideal and consistent routine, I would suggest 3 days of yoga and 3 days of the gym, plus one day for recovery will be a perfect combination.

I have experimented with many things through various exercises and have found out how it helps our body in different ways. Do it in a way that you feel happy when you exercise.

Do it happily without stressing yourselves with 3 days of yoga and 3 days of workouts. Try practicing on alternative days.

What kind of yoga will be the next question.
There are so many forms of yoga. I would say hatha yoga. There are so many schools for practicing.

Try alternating gym and yoga and it works very well. it won't take much of your time. You don't have to strain much.

Beyond flexibility, there is a deeper spiritual component. You will be more agile, flexible, and nimble. Plus, when you combine it with weight training, you will have strength too.

Question: Doctor, what do you prefer? Yoga or Gym?
Karthik, I have posted a video about this earlier. Please have a look at it. I would say, Yoga is slightly better than gymming due to certain aspects. But if you combine both, then there is nothing better than that. Both have their benefits and If you look at the video, I hope you will understand better.
