Pneumonia is the commonest cause of mortality and morbidity among the elderly population. . Immunization against Influenza and Pneumococcal infection is need of the hour. The conditions like dry mouth, chronic neurological disorders like stroke are risk factors for Pneumonia to develop in the Elderly population. This lecture discusses various ways in which Pneumonia can be prevented in the community and in-hospital care.
