Some 2,000 five to 11 year olds were in the process of receiving a COVID-19 shot at a repurposed high school in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, on Sunday.
Volunteers and doctors dressed up as superheroes to encourage the children to get the vaccine and dispel any fears.
One mother commented: "I know this is what is going to make us move forward and get through this pandemic, and the volunteers here are great with the kids, they are doing a great job."
A shot for younger children was approved on November 2. Since then, around 900,000 children have had their first COVID-19 vaccine shot, according to authorities.
