China provides US$350 million in funding for bridge in southern Philippines

The Philippines and China have teamed up to build a 3.8km (2.3 miles) bridge connecting Davao City on the southern island of Mindanao and Samal, officially known as the Island Garden City of Samal. The Chinese government will provide 90 per cent of the expected cost. Construction is estimated to be completed in 2027.
