'Worry' Sydney's lockdown will extend beyond August

Labor’s Ed Husic says his worry is that Sydney’s lockdown will go beyond August as originally stated.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian extended the original lockdown until the end the month after case numbers spiked.

“If you look at the numbers at the moment, even if they halved every single week, I just can’t see how the government in New South Wales will allow the lockdown to be lifted,” Mr Husic told Sky News Australia.

“We can get through this but it is going to need something a lot better than what we’ve got at the moment in terms of coordination.”
