Joanna Paliospirou, the victim of an acid attack in 2020, and her lawyer Apostolos Lytras were seen at arriving and leaving a courthouse in Athens on Wednesday.

Paliospirou's attacker failed to appear in court and was represented by her lawyer at the hearing.
Paliouspirou stated, "this woman who tried to kill me proved how cold-hearted and cowardly she is," after a hearing in front of a mixed jury.

Paliospirou's lawyer criticised the attacker's decision not to face Paliospirou in court: "I think it is disrespectful towards the court and towards Joanna to not come and hear what she is accused of on the day on which the prosecutor would read out the charges," Lytras said.

37-year-old Paliospirou was attacked leaving her office in the district of Kallithea by the unnamed 37-year-old attacker, following allegations Paliospirou contacted the attacker's boyfriend over Facebook.
Paliospirou's attacker was charged with attempted murder at the beginning of September.

SOT, Ioanna Paliospirou, Victim (Greek): "Once more, this woman who tried to kill me proved how cold-hearted and cowardly she is. This is all I have to say."

SOT, Apostolos Lytras, Lawyer (Greek): "I had predicted for days now that the defendant would not appear in court and would not face Joanna. I think it is disrespectful towards the court and towards Joanna to not come and hear what she is accused of on the day on which the prosecutor would read out the charges, giving her a chance to read and to understand what exactly she did. All the charges were read out without her being there. She didn't even appear keeping her head down. I find this tragic."
