Sorry Republicans, But Biden's Vaccine Mandates Are Very Popular

According to a new Axios-Ipsos poll, President Biden's vaccine mandates are actually very popular with Independent voters. Republicans are, obviously, very much against the mandates, but both Democrats and Independents like the idea of taking care of one another. This is a huge blow to Republican politicians who were hoping to use the issue to drive a wedge between voters ahead of next year's midterms. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Sorry, Republicans, but it turns out most people in the United States actually support the Biden administration's vaccine mandates. A new poll from Axios and Ipsos says that a grand total of 60% of Americans in their new poll support the actions taken by Biden last week with these vaccine mandates, 60%. That includes a majority, a huge majority, actually of Democrats, a large majority of independents and a minority of Republicans, of course. Republican voters do not support these vaccine mandates, but that's okay because when you put the other two groups in there, these Republicans are outnumbered anyway, majority of the public wants these in place. Here's how it breaks down by area. Seven in 10 urban respondents supported the mandates or testing requirements compared with six in 10 suburban voters and a little less than half of rural, rural voters.

So the rural voters, those who do lean Republican, they actually still almost, it's almost 50 50 on whether they support or are against the vaccine mandates. Right. The Heartland of America, Republican nation, and even they're like, eh, kind of, kind of do. And the reason this poll is important is because you have Republicans out there one, right now suing or trying to sue, planning to sue the federal government over these vaccine mandates. They're trying to make this a political issue. Fox news has been railing on it ever since the announcement came out. So have the other conservative outlets and the conservative talkers out there. This is the issue because they failed so spectacularly trying to make Afghanistan an issue. I mean, that almost seems like a decade ago at this point, right? When they were all talking about Afghanistan and oh, we're going to get you. Oh no, no. The vaccine mandate. Yeah. Public's actually supporting both of those things.

They may not approve of how it was handled, getting out of Afghanistan, but they support getting out of Afghanistan. They support vaccine mandates because believe it or not a majority in this, a majority of people in this country actually support taking care of one another. I'm typically not an optimistic person. Never have been. But this poll gives me hope. Not just because yay, vaccine mandates are popular. No, no, no, no. It's because people understand the importance of these mandates in taking care of one another. That's what stands out to me. People care about each other. You know, just when we think this country can't get any worse, everybody hates each other. Everybody's selfish. Nobody cares about anybody else. This poll shows us that wait a minute, maybe they do at least to a small degree. And that's something worth celebrating.
