DISCOURSE:
Once again today is day number five and Lord Sri Krishna welcomes you to His Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations held at His residence, the Sri Narayan Dham here in Durban. We say this with absolute happiness and absolute bliss. I remember on the 10th of October 2013 when I started my very first Satsang at Resmount Primary School, I said to myself that right here in Reservoir Hills there are so many already built big name international ashrams surrounding me. I was in a classroom that was full of filth with the children during the day. I went on my knees and I cleaned the classroom floors, and Mataji went to work so that we could buy Prasad and food for the devotees. Our business had crashed fully so I was on my knees, and I borrowed some liquid that could shine the wooden floors from the caretaker. I had promised to pay him some money on the following week.
So I had taken a walk down from Munroe Drive and Mataji had jumped off after work. But she had a curtain like that (here in the ashram) with those lights put up in the front, and my late friend Shanta bought a roll of décor that we ran from this end to that end. And it had 3 colour globes that were changing the colours all the time. But unfortunately we don’t have a lot of photographs, but a lot of photos were taken. I think we do have some videos.
But absolutely nothing deterred me. I sat in a classroom. Our first amount of devotees were 15. We had 15 devotees. I did not give a discourse. I brought my big screen which I still had at that point in time, and I played Guruji's bhajans. The thought was at that point in time that if there are already about three or four well established ashrams in Reservoir Hills, then what impact would I make in a classroom?
Eight years later this ashram, the Sri Narayan Dham, is beamed around the world. This ashram today is the only functional ashram in Reservoir Hills since COVID-19 started. This ashram, the Sri Narayan Dham, is the only ashram of this kind on the African continent, both in knowledge and in potency on the African continent. And, I can also say its standing head and shoulders with the big ashrams in India, yet our humble beginnings were in an insignificant classroom. How is this possible Sri Satish? Just in 8 years this ashram beams the morning Aarti live around the world, every morning. All our Satsang are captured live and beam around the world. At one point in time we were in an insignificant classroom in Reservoir Hills with giant ashrams around us. At that time we didn’t have an ashram. Today the Sri Narayan Dham has put Reservoir Hills, Durban, KZN and South Africa on the world map. Has it not? .......................................................
