Renowned Scottish piper Stuart Liddell starting his Delgatie Castle concert with hornpipe tunes

Award winning Scottish bagpiper Stuart Liddell from Inveraray, Argyll, Scotland, opening his special recital at historic Delgatie Castle with a set of hornpipes. These are "Crossing the Minch" and "Pipe Major George Allan" both by Pipe Major Donald MacLeod.

This was a special concert to help raise funds for this historic property near Turriff in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, which dates back to 1030. The Castle is the seat of Clan Hay and is where Mary Queen of Scots stayed in 1562 after the battle of Corrichie. The concert was arranged thanks to the support of Lady Jane MacRae of Clan Hay Society.

Stuart Liddell is a piper of great distinction, who has won many of the top awards in solo piping, including several Gold Medals and has twice won the Glenfiddich Piping Championship. Stuart lives in Inveraray and is Pipe major of the Grade 1 Inveraray & District Pipe Band, which he founded in 2003. His grandfather was the late Pipe Major Ronnie McCallum MBE, piper to the Duke of Argyll.
