A challenge to find the answer to a mate in 10 problem | Can you solve This (CYST) #07

A challenge to find the answer to a mate in 10 problem | Can you solve This (CYST) #07

Our resident problemist Satanick Mukhuty has been sharing chess problems (we call them positions of the day!) on all social media platforms of ChessBase India for three years now. He knows from experience that the larger chess audience has a clear tendency to sidestep long mating problems. "How can, after all, a human being precisely calculate mates in 10 or 15 moves?" they generally complain.

However, the matter of fact is that a composed mate-in-10, in general, has no reason to be more difficult than a mate-in-3. Usually these problems are based on clear-cut mechanisms and can be broken down into small steps of one-move mate threats. In this video Satanick explains a cute more-mover by Gunter Jordan from 2016. He hopes that after watching this you too will become a fan of long, maneuvering problems like he is.
